HE WILL BE GREAT AND WILL BE CALLED THE SON OF THE MOST HIGH Luke 1:32 |
||||||||||||||
Called the Christ, the Son of God, the Son of the most high, not because he is less than God but because he comes from the spirit of God. Called the Son of Man because he was born from a virgin who did not know a man, stated by Isaiah “the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means, God with Us”. (Isaiah 7:3). And this is exactly what happened when the angel of the Lord came to Mary and told her that you will be with child and give birth to a son. She asked, “how will this be? Since I know no man.” The angel answered. “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the most high will overshadow you. So, the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:34-35).
This is the one the prophet Daniel saw and wrote “in my vision at night, I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the ancient of days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power, all peoples, nations and men of every language worshipped Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed”. (Daniel 7:13-14) This is the one the three young boys saw after they refused to bow to the statue that Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon made. Nebuchadnezzar became furious, he ordered the fire furnace heated seven times hotter than usual. He ordered his soldiers to tie the three men and threw them into the blazing furnace. “Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisors, “weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” They replied, “certainly oh King”. He said, “look, I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like the Son of the Gods”. (Daniel 3:24-25).
This is the one Isaiah wrote “for to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called wonderful, counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”. (Isaiah 9:6). This is the one David wrote about in his second Psalm, “kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him”. (Psalm 2:12). This is the one Agur asked about in the Book of Proverbs “who has gone up to heaven and came down? Who had gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? Who has wrapped up the water in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the Earth? What is his name, and the name of his Son? Tell me if you know” (Proverbs 30:3-4). This is the one Micah, the prophet wrote that “ whose origins are from old, from ancient times:. ( Micah 5:2). This is the one who told the Jews “before Abraham was born, I am”. (John 8:59). This is the one John wrote, “the word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his Glory, the Glory of the one and only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14). And in another place wrote, “for just as the Father rises the dead and gives them life, evens so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son. That all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son, does not honor the Father, who sent him”. (John 5:21- (Continued on page 3) |
