Why Do You Look for the Dead Among the Living?

Yes! Christ did not stay in the grave; he rose on the third day. He is now alive and everyone who believes in Him; receives in His name eternal life and by personal belief in Him, shares in his resurrection. And by this resurrection and in the name of Jesus Christ, we are assured of conquering sin, death and the Devil.

Where are the preachers and teachers of religion today? Didn’t they attract millions and millions of people? Where are they? They died like any one else. Where are all the Prophets? They are also dead. Christ, on the other hand, is alive, he told it personally to John in the book of Revelations 1:17-18. “Do not be afraid, I am the first and the last. I am the living one, I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

Without the resurrection, there is no meaning to the atonement. Paul wrote in I Corinthians 15:17, “If Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, and you are yet in your sins.”

The resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of the Gospel. “That he rose again on the third day according to the scripture.” (I Corinthians 15:4), was and still is the center of Christian preaching and teaching.

It is the resurrection of Christ that gives us the assurance that the atonement was accepted by God. The resurrection was the Holy Spirit's seal of approval on the work of Christ. Paul wrote to the Romans that Christ was “Declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection of the dead.” (Romans 1:4).

Wishing each and everyone of you a very blessed 2008 Resurrection.
